I'm a native
of the Pacific Northwest and have always enjoyed sewing, collecting dishware, reading and my many beloved pets. For
the last 40 years I've sewn my children's clothes, my own clothes, and created gifts. All that time I yearned
to be able to offer some of my handmade textile creations to others who had similar interests.
About the turn
of the Century (my, doesn't that sound ancient) I discovered that many women shared my interest in vintage aprons
and reproductions that mirrored Mom's aprons from our youth. I saved a few of Mom's aprons to use as patterns
so I could recreate some part of that sentimental era.
I sewed a few reproduction aprons and offered them for sale
through some websites specializing in handmade products. I was both flattered and encouraged by the response I
received.
In December, 2007 I received my first "Special Order" from Switzerland!...isn't the
internet a wonder? This prompted me to begin collecting vintage apron patterns and as much classic fabric yardage as
I could locate. It also sparked a kernal of an idea...
In 2008 my new (for me) husband and I decided
to launch a "cottage industry" offering reproduction aprons and classic household textile items through a company
I dubbed "Christie's Collections" because I do all the real work and he's just 'technical' support. (He made me write that!). For a time this was enough sewing to
keep me busy while we resuscitated
our recently purchased two-acre homesite in the mountains (25 miles from Mount St. Helens...as the rock flies).
This fulfilled my hankering for gardens to plan, flowers to plant, and land to till...temporarily.

My husband's real interest was racing sports cars and collecting funny little British cars. We were able
to find some car fabrics which I made into shirts for him. After that, everywhere we went strangers would sidle up to
him and ask where they might get a shirt with Mini Coopers or Austin Healeys on it. After a while he started answering
"Ask her, that's where I get mine."

| What obsession? |
Thus a second chapter was born for Christie's Collections...the ubiquitous camp shirt. We started gathering
various sports, hobby, and car fabrics and fired up a website www.ChristiesCollections.biz (I guess that's kind of silly...you're already here).
Shortly thereafter we started
attending local festivals and car shows, offering a full range of handmade textile items but specializing in camp shirts and
women's blouses. As our business grew we expanded our inventory, then in response to repeated requests we began
designing specialized fabrics and having them custom printed to our specifications.
This opened chapter three; so
far we have four different Classic Mini fabrics, a British Sports Car fabric, and a fabric dedicated just to MG cars.
Whether your purchase is from my "ready-to-wear" handmade textile items or request a particular design
from the fabric of your choice, great care will be taken to provide you with high quality you will be proud to display or
wear.
We are not a "drop shipper". All of the items within Christie's Collections are created by
me. We ship all items from our shop within three days after payment. We will make every effort to make your shopping
experience positive. Your satisfaction is our goal. Please feel free to share your experience with us and
others who will visit this cottage!
